I have had a lot of very cute and very broken cars and I have loved every one of them dearly.

Marceline - 1962 Mercury Comet

Marceline was my first car. My dad bought her from an old guy at the post office for $1500 and suprised me with it when I got my learners permit when I was 15. The brakes barely worked. Her transmission blew up about 4 months after I got her.

Joyce - 1966 Volkswagon Beetle

Joyce was my second car. My mom bought her for me after Marceline blew up. She was my first real car that I actually got to drive. My best friend in high school drove a green '73 beetle and we would always park next to each other and drive around everywhere together.

The Samurai - 1984 Suzuki Samurai
The Samurai was my grandpa's car. He let me borrow it when Joyce started to have issues. I never got around to giving her a name. I drove her all over the place and went on a few great road trips.

The Chevy - 2003 Chevy Tracker

I used to hate this car. Mostly because of how I acquired it. My aunt didn't think it was safe for me to be diving the Samurai or Bug around and decided to buy me this car. While I appreciated the gesture, I didn't want or need a new car. My mother had the pink slip to the bug and somehow my aunt convinced her to give it to her. So she essentially stole Joyce from me and presented me with the Chevy. I resented her and the car for a long time. I drove this car when I moved to Washington. We pulled a small u-haul trailer behind it all the way there from California. It was fish-tailing the whole way. A few months later the radiator stopped working and blew up while my ex was driving the car without my permission. He left it in the middle of a freeway off-ramp. The towing and impound fees were insane. We broke up. I was secretly excited to no longer have the car.

Cooper - 1994 Nissan/Datsun Longbed Pickup

Cooper was my pride and joy. I think about this goddamned truck every day. I got her when I moved back to California from Washington and had her for around five years. She wasn't perfect but she got me around pretty good. Evetually her engine needed to be rebuilt but at the time I just didn't have the money.
