The World On My Plates Bis |
 |
Waiting, I Won't Make it Without You, Blue Angel, TV Lovers |
I read somewhere that she's a bad singer who gets by on her accent, which I agree with and I love it. Music for laying on a blanket in the sun or maybe smoking a cigarette inside at a small table in a kitchen. I Won't Make it Without You is such a precious little song. |

Neon Bible - Arcade Fire |
 |
Neon Bible, Intervention, Ocean of Noise, My Body is a Cage |
Oh I just love the drama!!! Please bring back the 5+ member indie bands with orchestral instruments :-( Bonus video of Hozier singing My Body is a Cage which is sooooo Hozier |

Capacity - Big Thief |
 |
Capacity, Great White Shark, Haley |
Where do I begin? Wish I could give Adrianne a big ol kiss for this one. Will forever remind me of my friend C and the kitchen of the Creek house. Just absolutely captivating song writing. |

Summer of Ten - Porches |
 |
Rib Cage, December's Sweating |
Aaron Maine's early work is some of my favorite songwriting out there. Sometimes I'm sad that he doesn't make them like he used to, but I still enjoy his new stuff, too. But these older albums and "secret" albums just have this really, for lack of a better word, raw quality. Probably all the yelling. Love it. I come back to this one a lot, I like the theme of sweat. |

Daydream - Mariah Carey |
 |
Fantasy, Underneath the Stars, Always Be My Baby |
I listened to Fantasy like 15 times in a row the other day at work. Can't stop shaking ass to Fantasy. That's gotta be one of the best uses of a sample in history. God I love Mariah Carey. The way this album is structured is flawless. Starting it off with Fantasy and just slowly bringing it down and closing with Looking In. Perfect mama! |

Lovers Rock - Sade |
 |
By Your Side, All About Our Love, The Sweetest Gift |
Ok wow so this is crazy but I had never listened to a Sade album all the way through until this week... of course I've heard her hits before but I'd never thought to put on an album. Boy have I been missing out. This is gorgeous. So soft and loving. |

Before the World Was Big - Girlpool |
 |
Before the World Was Big, Chinatown, Crowded Stranger |
It's funny how this album reminds me of Washington but I'm pretty certain I didn't listen to this when I lived there. But it does. I love the lack of drums, the way their shrill little voices sound together, it's such a great debut album (and still my favorite from them although powerplant is a close second) And they were only 18!!! |
2/16/25 |
1000 Variations on the Same Song - Frog |
 |
Stillwell Theme, Where Do I Sign Var. III, Housebroken Var. IV, Blaming it All on the Lifestyle Var. V, Arthur McBride on the Lower East Side Var. X |
Y'all I have a lot to say about this....coming soon |

Headphones - Headphones |
 |
Shit Talker, I Never Wanted You |
Omg I forgot all about this album until Spotify (ew) slipped Shit Talker into a Tacoma Radar playlist. I love David Bazan, I was fortunate enough to attend two of his couch tours when I was in high school and meet him. I was so obsessed with this album when I was like 16. It seems almost like a reply to Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello's Postal Service?? Maybe I'm reaching there, but I love the sparse electronic reimaginings of David's songs. I Never Wanted You will always make my heart hurt!!! |

Life for Rent - Dido |
 |
White Flag, See You When You're 40, Don't Leave Home |
I fucking love Dido!!!! I have been bumping this CD in my 1994 Honda Accord and it feels so good. This like y2k moody slightly alternative pop music is just delicious. See You When You're 40 is one of the most iconic breakup songs of all time. The way she says "what I've been warned about" gives me CHILLS |

Hobby's - Mietze Conte and Otto Benson |
 |
Kiki Coco, My Friends |
Luv Otto. Fun to jump up and down to. Fun to clean the bathroom to. |

Choke Enough EP - Oklou |
 |
Obvious, Harvest Sky |
Sooo excited for the rest of this album to drop in a few weeks! This makes me wish I was a proper DJ so I could chop it up and mix it. So fun, jumpy, I've been enjoying driving to it. Take Me By the Hand, the song ft. Bladee, would have done numbers in the scene kid community with a pop goes punk cover. |

Daryl Johns - Daryl Johns |
 |
Golden Showers, I'm So Serious, Happy |
Well how fun is this! This album feels like a fever dream. Late 80's at the mall driving home with all the windows down to go home and barbeque but....something is off. It's giving Too Many Cooks, that old Adult Swim skit lol. |

Margot and the Nuclear So and So's - Slingshot to Heaven (Director's Cut) |
 |
When You're Gone, Flying Saucer Blues, Los Angeles |
Screaming, crying, throwing up. The original cut of this album is extremely sentimental to me, so finding this gorgeous reworking of these songs was almost too much for me. I love the sparseness of this, compared to the orignal. The piano!!! This album came out ten years ago when I was seeing someone who I still care so much about, and it reminds me so much of him. We were both so excited for the new versions. This album sounds like grief and hope. |

Mk.Gee - Two Star & the Dream Police |
 |
Are You Looking Up, Alesis |
It's been a long time since an ablum from an artist I wasn't familiar with hit me like a truck, but this one sure did! So unique, interesting, and fun. I recently watched all the "live" videos he has on Youtube, made me love it even more. |
